Restocking
Restocking is usually the process in which either
a) A boutique, specialty shop, or other professional outlet replaces materials and products that have either been removed from the shelves during an inventory or sold out through excessive sales, or
b) the replacement of sold materials after a certain selected period of time.
Every so often a shop or company will take inventory of products sold, and replace the popular items in order to make them accessible for sale again.
A physical inventory may be mandated by financial accounting rules or the tax regulations to place an accurate value on the inventory, or the business may need to count inventory so component parts or raw materials can be restocked.
